Chief, Field Office
Location: Guwahati (Assam)
Closing Date: 17 September 2013
The incumbent will be responsible for UNICEF’s advocacy with the government and other partners for the enhancement of the survival, protection, development and participation of children and women in the state of Assam and North East States. He/She will be representing the India Country Office in all aspects of UNICEF’s co-operation with the State Government in Assam and North East States and responsible for all aspects of office management of the UNICEF state office.
Qualifications: Master’s degree from a recognized University in Social Sciences or equivalent. Training in Leadership and Management desirable.
Experience: Minimum eight years of progressively responsible professional work experience at state and national level in identification, planning, management, monitoring and evaluation of social development programmes. Experience of managing operations of a medium size office including supervising professional staff required.

Nutrition Specialist
Location: Guwahati (Assam)
Closing Date: 17 September 2013
The incumbent will be responsible for facilitating and influencing the State Government’s policy, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, for the Child Development and Nutrition programme in Assam and North-East Stales.
Qualifications: Master’s degree from a recognized University in any of the following: Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, Public Health, Public Health Nutrition, Child and Maternal Nutrition.
Experience: Minimum five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in the planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of Child Development and Nutrition Programmes at state and district level.

Social Policy Specialist
Location: New Delhi
Closing Date: 17 September 2013
The incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the India Country Office for social policy analysis and advocacy, through research, partnerships and networks and advocacy, contributing to Social Policy results in the UNICEF-Gol Country Programme. He/She will provide inputs to support sectoral programmes and inter-sectoral coordination relating to social policy, gender main-steaming and equity and social inclusion in programming.
Qualifications: Master’s degree from a recognized university in Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, Development Economics or other relevant disciplines.
Experience: Minimum five years of professional work experience related to programme planning, monitoring, and policy analysis with focus on social development and poverty alleviation at state and national level.

Finance Officer
Location: New Delhi
Closing Date: 17 September 2013 The incumbent assists in the area of finance and accounting control, recording, reporting of assets, liabilities and income. He/She will monitor the appropriale disbursement of funds and payments of accounts in accordance with the rules, regulations and established budgetary limits.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in the field of Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with specialization in Finance.
Experience: Minimum two years of practical professional work experience in finance and accounting. Working experience in SAP will be an added advantage.

Help Desk Assistant
Location: New Delhi

Key Tasks: Under the supervision of the ICT Officer, the Help Desk Assistant will provide technical support to users and solutions to IT problems including; administer data security and troubleshoot software problems experienced on the network or facilities; assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance and operation of the ICT Infrastructure such as Servers, Datacenter, Desktops, Laptops, Printers and other IT equipment, by regular monitoring, analysing and resolving the problems; ensure all the equipment are secured against network threats, protected against virus and backup schedules are adhered to; coordinate and monitor the work of the outsourced helpdesk for the effective and timely resolution of problems.

Qualifications: Completion of secondary education. Additional Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology required. Certification e.g. MCSE, ITIL or equivalent customer support certification will be an advantage.

Experience: Six years practical professional work experience in information technology, as well as systematic methods of troubleshooting and analytical problem solving, providing assistance to users on ICT products and services, and use of applications and diagnostic tools. Practical experience with various computer platforms and applications: operating systems, email and database systems, Microsoft Office product suites, Help Desk software, advanced Server/PC/laptop/printer installation, configuration, troubleshooting and repairs.

He/She will work at the state and district level while acquiring sector specific guidance from the Chief of Advocacy and Partnership Section in New Delhi.
Qualifications: Master’s degree from a recognized university in Social Sciences, Communications, Journalism, Public relations or other fields related area to the work of UNICEF.
Experience: Minimum five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in social sector related to child rights at state, district and community level in the field of advocacy, information and communication through senior level officials, elected representatives, media agencies, corporates and civil society partners.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Public Health and Nutrition, Health Sciences, International Health and Nutrition, Family and Community Health and Nutrition, Nutritional Epidemiology, Health and Nutrition Education, Health and Nutrition Promotion and Disease Prevention, Public Health Preparedness, Health Emergency Preparedness or other relevant discipline(s).

Communication for Development Officer
Location: Ranchi (Jharkhand)

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Field Office, the incumbent will be responsible for the design, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of strategic communication for behaviour and community-led social change to contribute to the achievement of Intermediate Results in various programmatic areas such as child survival and development and child protection. He/She will be required to design and implement interventions to build capacity and strengthen the government systems in communication planning and documentation.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Social/Behavioural Sciences (Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Health Education) with emphasis on strategic communication planning for behaviour development, social mobilization, participatory communication and research..
