Any individual who aspires to join any of the above Public Sector Banks as one of these Specialist Officer’s post will necessarily be required to take the CWE. Prospective candidates who wish to appear for the CWE will have to apply to IBPS and should carefully read the advertisement regarding eligibility criteria, online registration process, pattern of examination, issuance of call letters and score cards.
Candidates who appear for the CWE will be able to check their status after the examination. Scorccards will be issued to candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks and above in each test of the examination.
It should, however,be noted that successful candidates in the CWE who have been issued scorecards and who meet the stipulated eligibility criteria are then required to apply to any of the participating banks they wish to as and when individual banks call for applications for the Specialist Officers’ posts for which a Common written Examination has been conducted, quoting their personal details and their CWE scores. Each bank will then individually shortlist candidates and carry out their own selection processes such as Interviews etc forfinal selection.
Each participating Public Sector Bank will independendy issue a separate recruitment notification, specifying their vacancies and stipulating the eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, experience (if any), minimum required level of IBPS score in each test and on Total Score (if any) etc.

HOW TO APPLY FOR CWE (Specialist Officers)
Candidates can apply through IBPS‘s Website www.lbps.in only and no other mode of application will be accepted.
The advertisement stipulating the procedure for payment of application fees and applying online, eligibility criteria, structure of Written Examination, issuance of call letters and scorecards along with other details is available on IBPS‘s Website www.ibps.in and in Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar.

Candidates are advised to remain in touch with IBPS‘s website for any information which may be put for further guidance. Decision of the IBPS in respect of all matters pertaining to this examination would be final and binding on all candidates.

The scores awarded to qualified candidates are also likely to be used by a few other Banks and Financial Institutions like ECGC for selection for entry level Officers’ posts. Candidates will however have to satisfy the eligibility criteria for these organizations as individually stipulated by them.
Prospective candidates who wish to appear for the CWE will have to apply to IBPS after carefully reading the detailed advertisement available on IBPS website www.ibps.in regarding eligibility criteria, online registration process, payment of prescribed application fee/ intimation charges,
pattern of examination, issuance of call letters and score cards. Please note that candidates will not be permitted to appear for the Common Written Examination without the following documents:* Call Letter for Written Examination * Photo identity proof (as specified) in original and * Photocopy of photo-identity proof (as mentioned in (2) above) * Candidates reporting late i.e. after the reporting time specified on the call letter for Written Examination will not be permitted to take the examination.
Each participating Public Sector Bank will independently issue a separate recruitment notification, specifying their vacancies and stipulating their respective eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, experience (if any), minimum required level of IBPS score in each component test plus Total Weighted Standard Score (if any) etc.
Successful candidates in the CWE who have been issued scorecards and who meet the stipulated eligibility criteria will then be required to apply to any of the participating banks they wish to. Each bank will then individually shortlist candidates and carry out their own selection processes such as Group Discussions and/ or Interviews etc. for final selection.
The scores awarded to candidates, who qualify in CWE-PO/MT-II, will be valid for one year from the date of issuance of the scorecard and will be considered for recruitment exercises during that period. Candidates who have been declared as qualified in the previous CWE (I) are also permitted to apply, if they wish to improve their scores and/or keep the scores valid for a further period of 1 year from the date of issuance of scorecards of this CWE (CWE-PO/MT-II).

Candidates reporting late i.e. after the reporting time specified on the call letter for Written Examination will not be permitted to take the examination.
It should be noted that the CWE of IBPS will qualify candidates to become eligible for recruitment. The ultimate recruitment will be by each participating RRB who will independently issue a separate recruitment notification, specifying vacancies and stipulating the eligibility criteria, as desired by respective RRBs in terms of age, educational qualification, proficiency in Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancy a candidate wishes to apply, experience (if any), minimum required level of IBPS score In each component test plus Total Weighted Standard Score etc.

Successful candidates in the CWE who have been issued scorecards and who meet with the stipulated eligibility criteria will accordingly have to be required to apply to any RRB they wish to, quoting their registration no., roll no. etc. Each Regional Rural Bank will then individually shortlist candidates and carry out its own selection processes / Interviews etc. for final selection.

The scores awarded to candidates, who qualify in CWE will be valid for one year from the date of issuance of the scorecard and will be considered for recruitment exercises during that period.

The next Common Written Examination (CWE Clerk-II) as a pre-requisite for selection of personnel for Clerical cadre posts in the Public Sector Banks will be conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) tentatively in December 2012.

Any eligible candidate, who aspires to join any of the Public Sector Banks listed, as a Clerk or in a similar post in that cadre, is required to clear the Common Written Examination (CWE). Candidates who qualify in CWE Clerk-ll, will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be co-ordinated by IBPS. This system of Common Written Examination and common interview for recruitment of Clerical Cadre in Participating PSBs has the approval of the appropriate authorities.
