Van Rees India Private Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of Van Rees Group B V, a 200+ year old Tea Multinational. We are looking to recruit the right candidate to the position of (Jr.) Manager – Trading, to grow and run this arm of the business. This is a start-up position, based out of Coimbatore.

Post Name: Manager – Tea Trading

Main Tasks / Responsibilities: Design strategies, implement and take charge of the business plan. Responsible for the P&L of this business division. Responsible for evaluating teas on offer in relation to customer requirements and purchasing teas to the best advantage of the Company. Willing to travel towards business development. To take market positions to enhance the company’s trading potential. To ensure the teas are purchased at profitable levels. To ensure blends are done in line with customer requirements. To understand the strategies of our identified competitors and report to the Management on a regular basis. To ensure that agreed procedures are followed to obtain and maintain certifications. To evaluate freight and packaging rates for the benefit of the Company. Undertake tasting, evaluation and grading of teas, from auction, private or other sources on a weekly basis. Make out a purchase plan for approval of such teas, either as straight line or as blends.

Have regular contact with brokers/suppliers/factories and sellers for samples and other supply chain matters. Oversee complete supervision of receipt of goods, storage, blending, packing, stuffing, documentation, and payment tracking – for both suppliers as well as buyers, as per agreed terms. Submit market reports on a weekly basis.

Key Skills Required: Higher education or graduate level. With at least 7 years experience in the tea industry of which at least 3 years at a senior level with proven track record in business development. Advanced tea tasting skills. Excellent command of English both written and spoken.

Salary: Competitive and commiserate to experience.
