Coimbatore Kidney Centre & Specialty Hospitals was established to primarily provide comprehensive and most advanced treatment to patients with kidney and urinary tract diseases. It is recognised as a transplant centre by the Tamil Nadu Government. It is the first stand-alone kidney disease hospital in the country, and a pioneer in renal and urology services. It has also been one of the few hospitals to have an extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) facility in the region.
