The U.S. Embassy

is recruiting for the position of
Information Assistant (SPAN)
(Vacancy #12-074)
with the Public Diplomacy office.
Position is the Associate Editor of the three editions of SPAN, responsible for maintaining the production schedule; guiding, supervising and advising on the selection of articles, editing and design of the English, Urdu and Hindi editions; and writing articles for SPAN, an illustrated bimonthly with a Web platform, social media activity and an electronic magazine.
Work Hours: Full-time; 40 hours/week

Minimum Requirements:
* College degree is required in journalism/English Language/ English literature/humanities/American studies/international relations or related fields.
* Minimum five years of experience in reporting, editing, researching, writing, working with photographers or photographs, design or layout in journalistic operations.
* Level IV (Fluency) in English (speaking/reading/writing) and Level III (good working knowledge) in Hindi/Urdu (reading) is required.
* Must possess a proven understanding of American government, society, culture, politics, economics and institutions.
Salary will depend on qualifications and experience of the applicant.

Agricultural Specialist
(Vacancy #12-085)

The incumbent provides leadership in the design, implementation and evaluation of USDA programs in South Asia, a market for U.S. agricultural products.

Work Hours: Full-time; 40 hours/week

Minimum Requirements:
1. Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics or Marketing is required.
2. Ten years of progressively more responsible service in the fields of agricultural policy, economic or market analysis and research, analysis of government policy, report writing, and public outreach activities.
3. Level IV (fluency) in English and Hindi.
4. A thorough knowledge of Indian laws, rules and regulations related to production, marketing and trade of agricultural products, inputs to agricultural production, and of the agricultural policy environment.
5. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, online databases and resources.

Salary will depend on qualifications and experience of the applicant.
