West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (WBSEDCL). (A Govt. of West Bengal Enterprise) is engaged in the business of distribution of electricity and hydro generation of power in the State of West Bengal having annual turnover of more than Rs.17.000 crore.
The Company invites application from experienced professional with impeccable performance record, outstanding professional competency and demonstrable leadership traits for the post of Director (Regulatory & Trading). The role demands up-to date and in-depth knowledge of Electricity Act. 2003 and expenence of closely working with the Central and State Government and / or Central and State Electricity Regulatory Commissions on vanous Regulations /orders such as open access, tariff determination and rationalization, power procurement planning & trading, commercial agreement etc. The position requires day to day reporting to the Chairman and Managing Director.
QUALIFICATION
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering/MBA (Finance)/Chartered Accountant/Cost Accountant.
EXPERIENCE
(A) For those candidates who have Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, they should have at least 20 years of relevant expenence with at least two years at the level of two steps below the Director of Board of Directors such as Executive Director /General Manager/Chief Engineer or equivalent and above in Government sectors/PSUs/CPSUs or similar reputed private sector organization
(B) For those candidates who have Degree in MBA (FinanceJ/Chartered Accountant/Cost Accountant, they should have at least 20 years’ expenence with 5 years’ experience in the field of Trading of shares. Trading of commodities in the respective Trading Exchanges. The candidate should have worked for at least 2 years at the level of two positions below the Director of Board of Directors such as Executive Director/General Manager/Chief Engineer or equivalent and above in Government Sectors/PSUs/CPSUs or similar reputed private sector organization. Working experience in power sector particularly in the area of power trading is desirable.
AGE: Maximum 59 years as on 1.1.2015
TENURE OF APPOINTMENT
The position is on contract basis for an initial duration of 3 years with the condition of performance review at the end of each year, linked to review of the contract. The contract can be extended for a further period of 3 years at a time subject to the maximum age limit of 62 years
COMPENSATION
The post carries the pay in Pay Band of Rs. 37.400 – Rs. 67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 10.000/- plus Deamess Allowance, Mouse Rent Allowance. Electricity Allowance and Medical Allowance. Leave Travel Concession & free hospitalization benefit at reputed hospitals, chauffeur driven car at the Company’s cost for official work There are also certain provisions of personal use of the car at concessional rates. In case of specially deserving candidates both in the Government/PSU/Private Sector the terms & conditions are negotiable and pay protection with a suitable enhancement may be considered while fixing the pay in the pay scale.
