APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE POST OF PRINCIPAL FROM THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2012-13 The above post is open to all, however candidates from any category can apply for the post. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR APPOINTMENT AS PRINCIPAL: i. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) by a recognized University. ii. A Ph.D. Degree in concerned/allied/relevant discipline(s) in the institution concerned with evidence of published work and research guidance. iii. Associate Professor/Professor with a total experience of fifteen years of teaching/research/administration in Universities, Colleges and other institutions of higher education. iv. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS). v. Principal appointed prior to 4th April 2000, (vide circular no. NGC-1201/99637/ (4/2001) Vi.Shi-4 dated 28/05/2001 issued by Department of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra) and approved by the University of Mumbai is exempted from the revised qualifications as prescribed above in clauses i to iv. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph. D. degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991. However, a person who is already working as Principal in any college and whose appointment has been approved by the University as per the qualifications and eligibility conditions prescribed for the post of Principal prior to 4/4/2000 can also be considered eligible for the post of Principal. The selected candidate shall be provided with rent-free accommodation or HRA as admissible. Applicants who are already employed must send their application through proper channel. The required minimum qualifications for the post of Principal are as follows :-

III. Associate Professor/Professor wtth a total experience of fifteen years of teaching/research/administration In Universities, Colleges and other Institutions of higher education.
IV. A minimum score as stipulated In the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS).
The selected candidates shall be provided with rent-free accommodetion or HRA as admissible.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate end master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe /Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and tor assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without Including any grace mark procedures
A Relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph. D Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Dogreeprlorto 19 September, 1991.
The required minimum qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor are as follows :-
I. Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equ’rvelant grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) et the Master’s Degree level in a reinvent subject from en Indian University, or an equivalent degree from en accredited foreign University.
ii. Besides fulfiling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIRorslmllar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
iii.Notwithstanding anything contained In sub-clauses (I) and (II) above, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. Degree In accordance wtth the university Grants Commission (Minimum standards and procedure for Award of Ph.D.Degrse) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET or recruitment & appointment of Assistant Professor orequlvalent position In Colleges/Institutions.
iv NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required forsuch Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
