VACANCY FOR THE POST OF DIRECTOR, INDIRA GANDHI INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (IGIMS), PATNA (BIHAR)

The Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Sheikhpura, Patna-800014, an Institute of Excellence is an autonomous institution established under IGIMS Act, 1984 for treatment, teaching and research in Super Specialty Medical Subjects. The Institution is managed by a Board of Governors with the Director of the Institution as the Chief Executive Officer.

Application for the post of Director is invited from Individuals in given Proforma indicated below so as to reach to the Principal Secretary, Health Department, Govt, of Bihar. (Member Secretary, Selection Committee), Vikas Bhawan (New Secretariat) Patna- 800015 (Bihar) on or before 11-11-2013 up to 5:00 p.m. Application received from any source after the last date shall not be entertained.

Essential Qualification / Experience:
a. A Post-Graduate qualification in Medicine or Surgery or Public Health and their branches.
b. Teaching and/or research experience of not less than 10 years.
c. Twenty-five years standing in the Profession.
d. Extensive practical & administrative experience in the field of Medical Relief, Medical Research, Medical Education or Public Health Organization & adequate experience of running an important Scientific Educational Institution either as its Head or Head of a Department.

Upper Age Limit: Upper age limit is 60 years relaxable for Government servant or specially qualified and experienced candidate. A Govt, servant in the service can be appointed on deputation on Foreign Service terms upto a period of five years. Retired Govt, servant can be re-employed. (Upper age limit relaxed up to 65 years in this case.)

Pay & Allowances:
(a) Rs. 80,000/- (fixed) Plus NPA of 25% of basic pay but Pay + NPA does not exceed Rs. 85,000/-
(b) Residential accommodation will be provided in the Institute’s campus on payment of standard rent under. F.R. 45 or 10% of Pay, whichever is i
(c) Other Allowances as admissible.

Tenure of Post: As for the provision of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) Act, 1984 and subsequent amendments, the Director shall hold office for a term of 5 years from the date on which he/she enters upon his/her office or unit he/she attains the age of sixty-five (65) years, whichever is earlier. Probation: Probation period will be for One year.

(ii) The last date of receipt of application is 11-11-2013 (up to 5-00 p.m.)
(iii) The effective date for determining the eligibility as per the prescribed qualification, age, experience etc. for the post shall be the last date of receipt of application, viz. 01-08-2013.
(iv) Late & incomplete applications will not be considered.
