Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences with post doctoral experience in bioinformatics research in analysing complex evolutionary relationship in protein sequence, structure and functional diversity using modern computational tools or in the application of bioinformatics tools in nucleic acid research. | For Principal Scientist position: 3 years For Senior Principal Scientist position: 6 years | Experience in developing protein data base to analyze complex cellular system such as signalling cascade and host pathogen interactions or experience in developing new technologies for analyzing and storing large data set, and sequencing microbial genome to study host-microbe interaction for elucidating disease mechanism. | The incumbents are expected to work independently pertaining to bioinformatics in proteomics research and/ or in the area of genomic research using sophisticated computational tools and also to participate in the ongoing research programs in the Institute. |

Ph.D. in Physical Sciences with experience in operation and maintenance of facilities of sophisticated instruments for R&D work. | For Principal Scientist position: 3 years For Senior Principal Scientist position: 6 years | Experience in handling NMR, X-ray Defractometer, Fluorescence Correlation Spectrophotometer, Surface Plasmon Resonance, Circular Dichroism. MALDI-TOF, Atomic Force Microscope, Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope, Transmission Electron Microscope, Cryoelectron Microscope, Next Generation Sequencer etc and repairing of small instruments. Industry exposure will be an added benefit. | The selected candidates are expected to take the charge of central instrumentation facility of IICB and its management to afford quality services to the scientists of IICB as well as outside users. |
All the above posts are in the Pay Band of Rs. 37,400/- – 67,000/-. The Selection Committee depending upon the performance of the candidate may choose to place the candidate in any of the Grade Pays within the Pay Band subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criterion specified. The Total monthly emoluments at this level inclusive of all allowances would be approximately between Rs.1,00,000 to Rs.1,10,000/-.
