This individual will be responsible for design and implementation of the HP Hybrid Cloud Engineering Lab. This individual works directly with software development teams and test engineering groups, sales and marketing groups, and interoperability teams within HP to facilitate execution of product development lifecycle tasks. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Individual needs to be able to exercise independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Candidate will work on a lab project that automates application & infrastructure lifecycle, deployment & management across hybrid physical & cloud environments.

Responsibilities: Candidate will be designing and building infrastructure for a hybrid-cloud platform using cutting-edge HP cloud automation technology. Tasks include:
– Platform and platform-software design for virtual and physical servers.
– Policy definition and lifecycle for servers and lab infrastructure.
– Compliance design for IT mandated security and IPS/IDS standards.
– Design of strategies availability of servers, platforms, applications and services.
– Analysis of metrics, QOS, performance and reporting to senior staff.

Qualifications

Skills Required
– 7 – 10 years of experience in IT Engineering or similar
– Familiarity with Java/J2EE architecture
– Must be experienced with multi-tiered applications
– Must be experienced in designing and developing IT policies and procedures
– Must be experienced in working with automation
– Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
– Excellent process and documentation skills
– Experience in Windows and Linux environments is required
– Experience with virtualization technologies is required
– Experience with HP Insight Orchestration, Server Automation is desired
– Experience in Agile environments and rapid execution cycles is a plus
– Experience with Amazon AWS/EC2 a plus

Database Management:
Oracle SQL, Oracle RAC, MS SQL, Postgres SQL, management and security, replication, data continuity, backup/restore, performance tuning and profiling.

Storage Administration:
Install and configure low and midrange Storage devices.

Configure disaster recovery and High availability.

Job Family Description:

· Manages the end to end recruitment process including consulting with HR and business partners to identify staffing needs, design and implement attraction strategies, ensuring clear job skill specifications, internal and external sourcing, candidate screening, offer consultation and completion, and facilitation of background checks, relocation/immigration, and hiring processes.
