GIZ invites applications for the following positions from qualified professionals for implementation of projects for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.

1) Senior Technical Expert (Ref. No. 57) Economic of Ecosystems and Biodiversity
Core tasks involve conceptualizing, designing and implementing economic instruments in pilot projects for incentivizing conservation and sustainable use of ecosystem services and biodiversity.
Eligibility:

  • Masters / PhD in relevant discipline
  • Knowledge/experience of natural resource economics, ecosystem services valuation, environmental policies, project implementation
  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience

    2) Senior Adviser (Ref. No. 53) Sustainable Management of Coastal and Marine Protected Areas
    Core tasks involve project management, operational planning, implementation and monitoring of project activities, networking and information and knowledge management
    Eligibility:

  • Masters / PhD in relevant discipline
  • 10-15 years of relevant professional experience
  • A proven record of designing and implementing coastal and marine biodiversity management projects

The Indo-German development cooperation project “Environmental Benefits of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA-EB)” aims to contribute to the protection of natural resources for sustainable livelihood through MGNREGA by supporting Gram Panchayats in Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh in implementing MGNREGA works with high quality, taking environmental aspects into consideration.

This Position Requires:

  • Candidates with extensive working experience in MGNREGA programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Good understanding of NRM issues.
  • Post graduate degree in Agricultural Engineering / Agriculture / Rural Development/ Environmental Management.
  • At least 8 years of relevant professional work experience.
  • The position will be based at Raipur with 40-50% travelling to selected GPs and, occasionally, to New Delhi and other destinations.

Vacancy Announcement Technical Expert – Financial Inclusion
 “Rural Financial Sector and Services Specialist with emphasis on Remittances and Financial Literacy-Capability”.

GIZ, on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany, through its partnership with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) under the Rural Financial Institutions Programme (RFIP) has been supporting the Financial Inclusion efforts in India since the beginning of the SHG-Bank Linkage programme in 1992. Current initiative is to support expansion of the Financial Inclusion efforts with focus on Business Correspondent modeland linked capability building efforts. This position requires a Post Graduate Degree in Banking, Finance or Economics with at least 10 years of working experience in rural finance, banking (covering experience of financial inclusion/ business correspondence services) or similar fields relevant to the rural financial sector. RURAL FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS PROGRAMME

The Indo-German development cooperation project between GIZ and NABARD “Rural Financial Institutions Programme (RFIP)” aims at increasing access to sustainable and demand-oriented financial services through the institutions of the rural cooperative credit system, microfinance organizations and banks and their business correspondents.

This Position Requires:

  • Candidates with extensive working experience (at least 8 years) in the area of SHG Bank Linkage, Financial Inclusion, Livelihood Development, Financial Literacy.
  • Good understanding of situation & challenges for rural low-income households/rural development
  • Exposure to technological solutions related to financial Inclusion (Biometric, PoS, Mobile based payment services under BC model) would be an added advantage.
  • Project management and implementation experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi (oral and written);
  • Masters’ degree in relevantsubject
