Jobs in Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC)

The Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, is set-up by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to produce educational television programmes for telecast on Doordarshan in the countrywide classroom for the youth.

The Centre is looking for a Director in Pay Band Rs. 37400-67000/- and Grade Pay Rs.10000/- with minimum total emoluments of Rs.75,132/-per month and housing. The post is to be filled up on a tenure basis for 5 years, which could be extended for a further period of 5 years, subject to a maximum of 62 years of age

1. Essential qualifications : A Master’s Degree in any subject with consistently good academic record.
2. About 10 years of regular service in Media or Mass Communication, specially Television, as Producer/Director or Engineer or Researcher or Administrator with emphasis on ability for software development, visualization and conceptualization of programmes and their development.
3. Good communication skills to involve University academics in ETV production: and
4. Leadership qualities to manage Media Technical and Administrative staff and to coordinate production activity with academic persons.

The candidate will have to show/demonstrate software developed by him/her when called for interview OR
An outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made
significant contribution to knowledge in the area of Mass Media
{Television).
Age Limit : 55 years
(In case a suitable person in the above grade is not found, the University may appoint a person in the next lower grade. Also, in the case of exceptionally qualified candidates in the area of Educational TV/Film Production, the qualifications and age may be relaxed).
