Job Description: Chief Executive post. Proven Leadership and Techno-Managerial expertise is a prerequisite. The responsibilities Include: Efficient management of the Institute, Effective Liaison with Govt., dept/agencies, Establishing effective working application oriented R&D linkages with manufacturing industries across different sectors, academia, national & international R&D Organisations/Universities/ Institutions. Establishing advanced laboratories/infrastructure etc., development of machine tools and accessories; special products/ systems/capital goods and other related activities including marketing of R&D amongst a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
Qualification: Post Graduate Engineer in Mechanical/Electronics with specialization in related fields of Manufacturing technologies like metal cutting, forming, metal additive processes, ultra-precision engineering, computer integrated manufacturing, Nano-manufacturing technologies etc.
Desirable: Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering related specialisations.
Experience: At least 25 years (out of which at least 10 years in a top managerial capacity or as a divisional head leading a team of Scientists/Engineers) in Manufacturing Technology/Machine tools field and in high tech areas like CAD/CAM/CAE/CIM, Nano Technology applications, Mechatronics, Green manufacturing, IT & Lean manufacturing, etc. Exposure to high end product developments, marketing of R&D activities, development of applied R&D linkages with academia and manufacturing industries, etc. Preference will be given to those who have similar work experience in applied R&D with focus on commercialization of technologies, development of marketable products, etc., aiming at achieving institutional self-sustenance and technology leadership.
Age: Preferred 50-55 years as on the last date of application. (If suitable candidates are not available, age may be relaxed and contract employment may be considered for a specified term)
Scale of Pay: The Institute follows pay structure similar to the 6th Pay Commission recommendations of Gol. At present, the scale of pay is Rs.37,400-67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs.10.000/- PM plus usual allowances (Gross emoluments at the minimum of the pay scale -approx.. Rs.1.3 lakhs per month). Advance increments may be considered in deserving cases. Candidates from Government/PSU/ Autonomous Organisations must be working in at least one grade below the advertised post.
