Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Ranchi. is looking for a Vice-Chancellor.

A “Deemed University”, BIT is one of the premier engineering institutions in the country. With more than 10,000 students spread across the main campus at Mesra, seven extension centres in India, and three overseas centres. BIT also has excellent residential facilities for both the staff and the students.

QUALIFICATIONS: The Vice-Chancellor, being the academic and administrative head of the Institute, is expected to have proven teaching experience, a strong research background, administrative and leadership acumen.
The candidate for the post of Vice Chancellor should have a Ph.D. degree, preferably with a first class degree at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels in Engineering/Technology.

The candidate should have atleast 15 years of experience in Teaching / Research / lndustry, out of which 10 years must be at the level of Professor or above in an educational institute, Industry/Research Organization.

The normal tenure of the Vice-Chancellor is five years, subject to retirement age being 65 years. The candidate should preferably be around 54 years of age.

Emolument: UGC scale of pay, plus allowances for a Vice-Chancellor of a University and consultancy.
