Apex Footwear Limited ( AFL ) is the leading manufacturer and exporter of leather footwear from Bangladesh. AFL is a professionally managed, publicly listed company, employing over 9,000 persons in modern manufacturing factories that are MCI and WRAP compliant. The company has an installed capacity of 25,000 pairs of leather shoes and 30,000 pairs of synthetic footwear per day.
1. General Manager – Manufacturing
This person would be the Head of the Apex Footwear Ltd. Factories in Shafipur, Gazipur, Bangladesh, with full responsibility for production and quality.
Job location : Factory of Apex Footwear Ltd in Shafipur, about 40 Km outside capital Dhaka city.
Key responsibility :
- Lead entire factory production and quality teams
- Drive production planning and ensure quality and delivery targets are met
- Optimize capacity and human resource utilization to maximize productivity
- Develop and implement best practices for production, quality, efficiency and people
Skills & Experience :
- At least 10 years of leather footwear manufacturing experience, preferably in export with proven, strong track record of leadership in production management
- Prior experience of having individually managed factories with at least 3000 workers
- Proven experience in production problem solving, quality systems and improving productivity
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and be comfortable working with foreigners and also communicating with non native English speaker
- Strong and effective leader with excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience in working with, implementing and continuing global industry best practices like BSCI, LEAN manufacturing, IMG etc will be considered an additional qualification
2. Product Manager / Line Builder – Synthetic Footwear
This person would be responsible for synthetic footwear new product development, innovation and material development.
Job location : Head office of Apex Footwear Ltd. in Dhaka Bangladesh.
Key responsibility :
- Exclusively tasked with the responsibility for continuous synthetic footwear new product development
- Innovation from picking and identifying trends and styles to fast prototyping to mould
- Responsible for product design and thorough understanding of fashion trend in footwear market
Skills & Experience :
- At least 5 years hands on experience in the area of product development / and or production of a company with hawai chappal type production of minimum 10,000 pairs per day
- Proven track record of being able to follow the technical requirements of mould making and materials for synthetic materials such as PVC and EVA
- A self starter and able and ready to travel extensively for work
- Deliver time bound projects & understand the importance of speed to market
- Proven leadership and design development ability
Employment nature : Contractual. Initially for 2 years with an option of extension.
